Submission Instructions

We Welcome Submissions

The Journal of Modern Social Sciences (JMSS) welcomes submissions from postgraduate students and early career researchers from any higher education institution worldwide. We encourage papers from a broad range of disciplines and perspectives, reflecting the diversity of modern social sciences.

How to Submit Your Paper

If our journal's theme aligns with your research.

Please submit your complete paper to: JMSS@atripress.org.

Submissions to ATRI Press journals (submit once to get recommendations and publication opportunities in all ATRI Press journals): Edit@atripress.org.

There is no need to send an abstract prior to submission, but we require a brief abstract to accompany your full article.

Upon submission, you may receive an email requesting minor revisions before your article can be published. If accepted, you will be notified via email when the issue containing your article will be published online.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

In addition to invited articles through direct outreach, JMSS charges varying APC fees for all authors, depending on their region of residence. For more details on the fees applicable to your location, please refer to our Author Charges page.

What to Include with Your Submission

  • Cover Email: Your full name, institution, department, and current academic program. Include a brief overview of your research project and areas of interest (optional). Indicate whether you are willing to make your email contact details available to readers who may wish to discuss your research.
  • Abstract: A concise abstract (approximately 200 words), either included in the body of the email or as a separate .doc attachment.
  • Full Paper: Your paper should be attached as a .doc file. Ensure that your name appears on every page.
  • Bibliography: Your references should be included within the same document as your paper, or as a separate .doc attachment.

Style and Formatting Guidelines

All submissions should be in a word-processed format, double-spaced, and in size 12 font. The document format should ideally be a .doc file. While formatting elements like fonts, headings, and images will be adjusted during the publication process, please ensure your submission is clear and legible.

If your paper includes images, please submit them separately in .gif or .jpg format.

Referencing Style

For citations and bibliographies, please use the MLA style. This includes in-text citations with the author's last name and page number in parentheses, and a 'Works Cited' list at the end of your paper.

If you need to include explanatory notes, use endnotes rather than footnotes. Grouping all notes at the end of the document makes the web formatting process easier and enhances readability for our online audience.
