Peer Review Process for Journal of Modern Social Sciences (JMSS)

The  Journal of Modern Social Sciences  (JMSS) ensures that all submissions undergo a rigorous peer review process to maintain high academic standards and publish valuable research. Below is an outline of our review process:

1. Submission of Manuscript
Authors submit their manuscripts via the JMSS online submission portal. Submissions should strictly follow the journal's formatting guidelines and scope. Manuscripts that do not comply may be returned to authors for adjustments before further consideration.

2. Initial Editorial Screening
Once submitted, manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial team. The Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor will evaluate whether the manuscript fits the journal’s focus areas and meets basic academic standards. Manuscripts that are out of scope or below the journal’s quality threshold may be rejected at this stage.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review. In this process, both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous. Expert reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s originality, research design, and contribution to the field of sociology and management.

4. Reviewer Feedback and Recommendations
Reviewers provide detailed feedback on the manuscript and make one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept: The manuscript is suitable for publication without revisions.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before publication.
  • Major Revisions: Significant changes are necessary for the manuscript to meet the journal’s standards.
  • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the criteria for publication.

The reviewers’ feedback is shared with the authors, who are given an opportunity to address the comments and make necessary revisions.

5. Revision and Resubmission
If revisions are required, the authors will be asked to revise the manuscript based on the feedback provided by the reviewers. The revised manuscript must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe and may undergo additional rounds of review if necessary.

6. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ reports and the quality of the revisions. The decision is then communicated to the authors, with any final instructions for publication.

7. Publication
Once accepted, the manuscript goes through copyediting and formatting. After this stage, it will be published in the next available issue of JMSS and made freely accessible as part of the journal’s open-access policy.
