The Journal of Current Social Issues Studies (JCSIS) Publication Charges

The Journal of Current Social Issues Studies (JCSIS) is a fully open-access journal dedicated to the principle that academic research should be accessible to all without financial barriers. Each published article is immediately available to a global audience free of charge, with no subscription or access fees. To uphold our rigorous editorial standards and ensure the long-term sustainability of the journal, JCSIS has implemented the following fee structure:

  1. No Submission Fees
JCSIS does not impose submission fees, enabling authors to submit manuscripts for initial evaluation without any financial obligation. This policy aims to foster a diverse and inclusive range of submissions, allowing scholars worldwide, regardless of their financial background, to contribute their research to the journal.

  2. Editorial Fee
Once a manuscript advances to the peer review stage, an editorial fee of $100 USD is required. This fee supports essential editorial activities, including administrative processing, editor assignment, and the logistical management of the peer review process, all of which are crucial for maintaining the journal's commitment to timely and rigorous review.

Fee Waiver: JCSIS offers a waiver of the editorial fee for manuscripts where the corresponding author is a registered student or faculty member. This waiver reflects our commitment to supporting early-career scholars and promoting academic equity.

  3. Article Processing Charge (APCs)
Upon acceptance for publication, an Article Processing Charge (APCs) of $150 USD is applied. This fee covers the comprehensive costs associated with the publication process, including high-quality professional editing, typesetting, and digital publishing. Additionally, APCs support the development and maintenance of JCSIS's digital platform, ensuring that articles are disseminated through stable and reliable open-access channels.

The APCs also fund initiatives that enhance the visibility and impact of published research, such as indexing in leading academic databases and integration with advanced digital tools. These efforts improve discoverability and ensure that JCSIS's articles are accessible and citable across a wide range of international scholarly platforms.

  4. Article Retraction Fee
If an article must be retracted due to substantive errors or ethical concerns, a retraction processing fee of $50 USD will be charged. This fee covers the administrative costs of managing the retraction process, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to preserve the integrity of the academic record.

Waivers and Discounts

At JCSIS, we are dedicated to promoting equitable access to academic publishing and recognize that financial barriers should not hinder the dissemination of valuable research. We offer the following options to assist authors facing financial constraints:

  • Editorial Fee Waiver: A waiver of the editorial fee is available for students and academic staff, encouraging participation from a broad spectrum of the academic community and supporting emerging voices in the field.
  • APCs Waiver: Authors experiencing financial hardship may apply for a waiver of the APCs. Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering the author's financial circumstances and the potential impact of their research.
  • Additional Support for Authors from Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Authors affiliated with institutions in low- and middle-income countries may be eligible for further assistance, as part of JCSIS's commitment to fostering global diversity in scholarly publishing.

Our fee structure is designed to balance financial accessibility with the sustainability necessary to maintain our rigorous editorial standards, ensure immediate open access, and provide a high-quality publishing platform for cutting-edge social issues research.
